If you go to tech school before they rework them, you'll be gauranteed to be trained for the shred you are selected to retrain for, but once you get your 5 level, all 1D7s are put into 1 of 4, M, P, Q or W, based on your unit's mission. You have to apply for the shred directly. The shred must be available on the retraining advisory though. You can get more information by checking the Air Force Classification Directory (AFECD) located on MyPers. I'm not sure about Alpha deployment tempo, but Bravo deployments are rare from what I've heard.A little late but per the email from MyPers I got, all shreds in the 1D7 AFSC require the same ASVAB/EDPT scores, which says "General: 64 & EDPT: 57, OR Electrical: 60 & EDPT: 57." I was also sent a waiver form which nulls the requirement of even taking the EDPT at all that's good through October 2022.
