Sometime in the mid to late 1980s I think Colt started using walnut stocks with gold or silver medallions. I have two 3rd Generation 4 3/4" SAAs with Nickel finish. The early one has plain smooth Walnut. "Handicraft" refers to the traditional technique in making a product, not to the design characteristics of the product itself (figurine, totem pole, etc).
