I would certainly suspect the motor. I’m not sure from your post what your Jack position is, but you can manually retract them. The motor was, and maybe still is, a weak spot in the equalizer system. Get your meter and check it to be sure that the charging device is putting out the 13.7 to 14.2 VDC that these put out when working properly.
