They have not made them in 35 plus years…so they are collectors items, esp the folding stock version.

I'm looking into getting an M1A/M14 with tax return season approaching. I've narrowed down my choices to a new production loaded M1A or a James River Armory M14. Both are about $1500. Id be mounting a scope and using it for recreational shooting and hunting. After 2 months I finally got my new JRA M14 to the range today. Ran 100 rounds of Hirtenberger thru it (was limited on time). Only 1 malfunction, about 50 rounds in it stovepiped but I easily cleared it out and otherwise it performed flawlessly. Decent groups at 75 yards.
