I got interested in the Blackhorn 209 powder because of all the good things on here about it. Now, after some Googling, a bunch of phone calls (one to Knight) the final verdict seems to be that because the primer sleeve in the ...Middle is Federal 209A "full strength" primers. Right is Cheddite 209. Until I found the Federals, I was contemplating using the 209 breech plug with the musket cap firing pin as it had a less severe stike on the Cheddite primer than thre 209 pin did. The musket cap pin proved 100% reliable with Cheddite primers with no piercing.

I am still confused. The 209 was not available when the MK85 first hit the market. Knight then redesigned the breech plug and bolt for the 209 ignition, after the 209 came into vogue.
